Small things make a big difference

Small things make such a big difference, here are some good things to live by –
1. Never shake someone’s hand sitting down.
2. When shaking hands, grip firmly and look them in the eye.
3. In a negotiation, never make the first offer.
4. There are plenty of ways to enter a pool. For me the stairs are not one.
5. Where possible, request the late check-out.
6. When entrusted with a secret, keep it.
7. Hold your heroes to a higher standard.
8. Return a borrowed car with a full tank of fuel.
9. Don’t let a wishbone grow where a backbone should be.
10. If you need music on the beach, you’re missing the point.
11. Eat well but don’t fill up on bread.
12. Carry two handkerchiefs. The one in your back pocket is for you. The one in your breast pocket is for her.
13. You marry the girl, you marry her whole family.
14. Be like a duck. Remain calm on the surface and paddle like crazy underneath.
15. Experience the serenity of travelling alone.
16. Never be afraid to ask out the best looking girl in the room.
17. Never turn down a breath mint.
18. A good shirt and jacket is worth 1000 words.
19. Try writing your own eulogy. Never stop revising.
20. If you want to know what makes you unique, sit for a caricature.
21. Eat lunch with the new kid.
22. After writing an angry email, read it carefully. Then delete it.
23. Ask your dad to play, he’ll never let you win.
24. Open doors for people.
25. Give credit. Take the blame.
25. Write down your dreams.
26. Thank a veteran as they gave their yesterday so that we can have our today
27. Say ‘Thank you for your service’ to fire fighters, police officers, ambulance service and military personnel for their commitment to helping make us stay safe and healthy.
28. Be proud of your efforts and accomplishments, but don’t get cute.
29. When the truth is delivered with respect, how the other person responds is their deal.
30. If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.
31. Know how to: change your oil, fix a sink, save to invest your money and be the hero in an argument (calm it down).
32. You are 100% responsible for your own life.
33. Patience is a virtue, but slow feet don’t eat.
34. Understand the balance of confidence and humility.
35. Remember life is precious & short so make everyday count

Happy New Year 2018!
