Top Tips on ‘HOW TO BECOME A GOOD INSTRUCTOR’
Appearance: The instructor is the model for the student. He/she must personify the image which it is hoped each student will achieve. Punctuality, tidiness, courtesy and general conduct are essential
Organisation: A training session or class runs smoothly and on time is taken for granted by students. This simple element of good training often hides a great amount of preparation on the part of the instructor. It is essential that an acceptable routine of training is achieved for both the instructor and student. Good training habits are indicative of a well organised and balanced lifestyle.
For many of us, the main thing that gets in our way on a daily basis is procrastination. It is something we are all guilty of – not everybody can be 100 per cent motivated all the time – but if we can recognise it, then we can do something about it.
Although I have known Master John Swift 6th Dan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of VERVE Martial Arts for over 12 years, when he approached me to share my thoughts on him as a martial artist, business innovator and friend, I was unsure of where to start.
