Don’t just ‘go through the motions’

looking out to sea

I was at the centre this morning. I was feeling a little tired and my hip and back were sore. I was having a hard time getting going and I caught myself thinking “just get the day done and tomorrow I will start fresh, everyone will be ok with that as we all have our tired days.” Then it hit me, I’m not living, working, teaching or training for anyone else, I’m doing it for myself and right now I am just wasting my time going through the motions.
So I took a moment, regrouped, got myself centred and then got back at it. Before I knew it, I had finished a great workout, spoke to some really great people in my life and had a particularly successful morning!
Once again I’m reminded of the importance of ‘intent’ ….putting my spirit into whatever I am doing. So for the rest the day I’m to do my best to not just go through the motions but to apply that same spirit to everything I do.

Questions, I asked myself …

– How would you walk if you were amazingly vibrant and healthy? Walk that way.
– What would your posture look like if you extremely alert and awake? Stand like that.
– How would you breathe if you were totally calm and confident? Breathe like that.
– What would you eat if you knew that food was an important key to your energy and longevity? Eat those foods.
– How serious would you be about consistent exercise if you knew that it would prolong the quality of your life? Exercise that way.
– How much of a priority would you make rest and recharge if you knew it would strengthen your immune system? Make the time to do it.
– How would you work if you absolutely loved your job? Work that way.
– How would you treat your family and friends if you were completely happy and content? Treat them that way
– How would you live if today was your last? Live it

When is a good time to start, right now maybe … this time next year you will wish you had started today!
