‘Motivation starts you, discipline & routine keeps you going’
Warning – read with caution as some of the points addressed may offend!
1. ‘Your spoon doesn’t make you fat’
Weight management starts at the super market and what you put into your trolley, fact! Be strong, be disciplined!
2. Don’t skip meals, eat at regular intervals
Eating three meals a day plus snacks is essential in weight management. Don’t forget breakfast! Eating breakfast in the morning jump-starts your metabolism. Remember that food is your bodies fuel so without it, your body cannot function as efficiently.
3. Down size your portions
Apparently plate and portion sizes have increased by as much as 20 percent over the last 15yrs, you have all heard the term ‘eyes bigger than your belly!’
4. ‘Eating late is not your mate’
Avoid eating lots, particularly carbohydrates, after 8.00pm as your body will struggle to burn it off. If anything ‘front end’ load your carbs so they are mainly consumed in the first half of your day.
5. Drink plenty of water
Include 6 to 8 glasses of fluid each day. It’ll help keep you adequately hydrated and often helps prevent hunger & overeating.
6. ‘You are what you eat’ – be sure to still live and enjoy food
Who doesn’t love food? Weight management doesn’t mean giving up all the good stuff, just try replacing some of your basic bad habits and understand that you need to be considerate of what you put in, a simple yet well used equation –
Energy in … Vs … Energy Out

If there is a considerable difference between the two over a period of time you will gain or lose weight.
7. Take Exercise daily
The type of exercise you do is not as important as picking an activity that you enjoy and can stick with. Note – Martial Arts is a great physical activity and we can recommend a great club!
All the best with your weight management goals, remember –
‘Discipline & will power is like a muscle, the more you exercise it the stronger it becomes’
Respect as always
